Alocasia Maharani Variegated

Alocasia Maharani Variegated

Rare • Textured & Stunning • Not Pet-Friendly • Intermediate Collector Plant

This one’s for the collectors who like their plants a little dramatic and a lot stunning. The Variegated Alocasia Maharani takes everything you love about the original—its thick, silvery, dragon-scale-like leaves—and adds creamy white variegation that makes each leaf a living work of art. It’s bold, compact, and ridiculously cool

Why It’s Rare:
The standard Maharani is already a prized hybrid (Alocasia reginula × Alocasia melo), but toss in natural variegation? That’s the unicorn of the group. These beauties are propagated slowly and in small batches, making them highly sought-after by collectors who know a good find when they see one.

Sun Requirements ▾

Bright, indirect light keeps this one happy. Too much direct sun can crisp the variegation; too little, and you’ll lose the contrast.

Watering Instructions ▾

Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feels dry. These chunky, thick leaves hold moisture, so overwatering is a no-go. Humidity: Loves it humid (60%+ is ideal). Without it, you’ll see crispy edges—and no one wants that.

Care Tips ▾

Temperature: Keep it warm and cozy between 18–27°C (65–80°F). Drafts or temperature swings will throw off its groove. Soil: Use a light, well-draining aroid mix—something chunky with perlite, bark, and coco coir to keep roots happy. Feeding: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. It’s not a big eater, but it appreciates a snack during the growing season.
