Sun Requirements ▾

Bright, indirect light is key. Your fig tree will thrive near a large window with filtered sunlight. It can handle a bit of direct morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon rays which can scorch the leaves. Low light = leaf drop and slow growth. If it’s not getting enough light, consider supplementing with a grow light.

Watering Instructions ▾

Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil are dry. Soak the soil thoroughly, allowing excess water to drain out. Never let it sit in standing water—this leads to root rot. Typically, this means watering every 7–10 days, but always check the soil first. The frequency will vary with temperature, humidity, and light. In winter, reduce watering slightly as growth slows down.

Care Tips ▾

Loves stable temperatures between 18–24°C (65–75°F). Keep it away from drafts, vents, and sudden temp changes. Rotate the pot every few weeks to keep it growing upright and evenly. Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust and let the plant breathe. Fertilize monthly during the growing season (spring/summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.
