Full sun to partial shade. Plant in a location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for the heaviest flowering and strongest growth. Partial shade is tolerated, although flower production may be slightly reduced.

Moderate. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, this shrub is moderately drought tolerant but performs best with deep watering during extended dry periods.

Prune immediately after flowering if shaping is required, as mockorange blooms on wood produced the previous season. Remove only older stems as needed to encourage fresh growth while preserving next year's flowers. Apply a layer of mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and protect the roots during Alberta's changing seasons. Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced slow-release shrub fertilizer. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
