Sun Requirements ▾

This plant flourishes in bright, indirect light. Place it near an east- or west-facing window, or filter strong southern light with a sheer curtain. Avoid direct, harsh sun, which may scorch the delicate leaves, and low-light conditions, which can cause leggy growth. Consistent bright light helps the brancifolia maintain strong, vibrant foliage.

Watering Instructions ▾

Keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy. Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry, allowing excess to drain completely. During the active growing season (spring and summer), this alocasia may need more frequent watering, while in fall and winter, reduce the schedule slightly as growth slows. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so always ensure good drainage.

Care Tips ▾

Temperature & Humidity: Prefers warm conditions (65–85°F / 18–29°C) and high humidity. Place near a humidifier or mist regularly to keep leaves thriving. Potting Medium: A chunky, well-draining aroid mix (soil blended with orchid bark, perlite, and peat) is ideal for healthy roots. Fertilizing: Feed every 2–4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Pause fertilization in winter when growth slows. Maintenance: Rotate the plant regularly to encourage even growth. Wipe leaves occasionally to keep them dust-free and able to photosynthesize effectively. Dormancy: Like many alocasias, brancifolia may enter a rest period in cooler months with slowed growth or occasional leaf drop—this is normal and temporary.
