Full sun to partial shade. Emerald Falls performs well with several hours of direct sunlight each day and can also grow successfully in bright partial shade. Abundant light encourages dense, vigorous growth, while some afternoon shade can be beneficial in particularly hot locations. Excessive shade may result in thinner, less vigorous growth.

Watering Instructions ▾

Low to moderate. Water thoroughly and then allow the upper portion of the soil to dry somewhat before watering again. Emerald Falls has good tolerance for short dry periods once established and generally prefers not to remain continuously wet. Container-grown plants may require more frequent watering during hot, windy weather.

Care Tips ▾

Trim or pinch excessively long stems whenever necessary to maintain the desired shape and encourage fuller branching. Fertilize container-grown plants periodically during active growth, but avoid excessive feeding. Good drainage is important, particularly when Emerald Falls is grown in containers.
