Hoya Heart Flame

Hoya ‘Heart Flame’ is a distinctive collector houseplant prized for its thick, waxy foliage and eye-catching variegation. Its attractive leaves display contrasting shades of green and creamy white to yellow, often developing warmer pink or reddish tones on fresh growth or when grown under bright conditions. Each leaf can develop its own unique pattern, giving the plant an ever-changing appearance as new growth emerges.

Like other Hoyas, Heart Flame develops long, flexible vines that can be allowed to cascade from a hanging basket or trained upward on a trellis, hoop, or decorative support. Its succulent-like foliage stores moisture, helping the plant tolerate short periods of dryness and making it relatively forgiving when grown in the proper conditions.

With maturity and favourable growing conditions, Hoyas can produce clusters of distinctive star-shaped, waxy flowers. Bright light, stable growing conditions, and allowing the plant to become comfortably established in its container can help encourage flowering. Avoid removing old flower spurs, or peduncles, after blooming, as many Hoyas can flower repeatedly from the same structures.
