Main Stage Glacier Sky Petunia (Petunia)

Main Stage Glacier Sky Petunia (Petunia)

Main Stage™ Glacier Sky Petunia (Petunia hybrida ‘Main Stage™ Glacier Sky’) is a spectacular trailing petunia prized for its striking sky-inspired blooms featuring crisp white petals dramatically accented with blue-purple veins and star-like markings. Each flower is uniquely patterned, creating a dynamic display that changes slightly with temperature and growing conditions, making every plant a one-of-a-kind garden feature.

This vigorous variety develops a dense, mounding to trailing habit that quickly fills hanging baskets, patio containers, window boxes, and landscape beds with an abundance of blooms from late spring until the first hard frost. The cascading stems create a lush waterfall of flowers, making Main Stage™ Glacier Sky an outstanding choice for elevated planters and mixed annual combinations.

The self-cleaning flowers remain attractive without regular deadheading, while the plant's excellent weather tolerance ensures reliable performance throughout the growing season. Its nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators, adding beauty and biodiversity to the garden. The cool-toned flowers pair beautifully with silver foliage plants, white annuals, blue lobelia, calibrachoa, bacopa, and ornamental grasses.

In Alberta, Main Stage™ Glacier Sky Petunia thrives in sunny locations, providing continuous colour and exceptional garden performance until autumn frost.

Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun. Plant in a location receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Full sun promotes the heaviest flowering, strongest branching, and the most vibrant flower colour and patterning.

Watering Instructions ▾

Moderate. Water thoroughly when the top few centimetres of soil begin to dry. Container-grown plants may require more frequent watering during hot summer weather. Avoid allowing the soil to remain soggy.

Care Tips ▾

Feed regularly with a balanced flowering plant fertilizer to encourage continuous blooming throughout the season. If growth becomes stretched during midsummer, lightly trim the stems to promote fuller branching and a fresh flush of flowers. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
