Prairie Torch® Hybrid Buckeye (Aesculus × ‘Prairie Torch’)

Prairie Torch® Hybrid Buckeye (Aesculus × ‘Prairie Torch’) is a cold-hardy ornamental tree valued for its upright form and striking red flower spikes in spring. This hybrid buckeye produces showy, upright panicles of deep pink to red flowers that attract pollinators and provide strong early-season visual interest.

This selection forms a compact to medium-sized tree with a rounded to oval canopy and attractive palmate foliage. Leaves emerge fresh green in spring and provide a dense canopy through summer before turning yellow tones in fall. Prairie Torch® is bred for improved cold tolerance and performance in northern climates compared to traditional buckeye species.
