Presto Orange Geranium (Pelargonium)

Presto Orange Geranium (Pelargonium)

Presto Orange Geranium (Pelargonium × hortorum ‘Presto Orange’) is a vibrant bedding geranium prized for its brilliant orange flower clusters, compact growth habit, and exceptional garden performance. The bold blooms rise above lush green foliage, creating a cheerful display that brightens containers, window boxes, hanging baskets, borders, and landscape beds throughout the growing season.

This early-flowering variety develops into a dense, well-branched plant that continuously produces large clusters of vivid orange flowers from late spring until the first autumn frost. Its compact habit makes it ideal for creating tidy, colourful displays, while its excellent heat tolerance and dependable blooming ensure long-lasting beauty even during the warmest months. The flowers also attract bees and other beneficial pollinators to the garden.

Presto Orange pairs beautifully with white alyssum, blue lobelia, purple petunias, silver foliage plants, and ornamental grasses. Whether planted individually for a bold splash of colour or incorporated into mixed containers and bedding displays, it provides reliable performance with minimal maintenance.

In Alberta, Presto Orange Geranium thrives in sunny locations and provides months of vibrant blooms until frost.

Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun to part sun. Plant in a location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Full sun promotes compact growth, vibrant flower colour, and continuous blooming throughout the season.

Watering Instructions ▾

Moderate. Water thoroughly when the top few centimetres of soil begin to dry. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings, as geraniums prefer well-drained conditions and dislike consistently wet soil.

Care Tips ▾

Remove spent flower heads regularly to encourage continuous blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Fertilize every two to three weeks during the growing season with a balanced flowering fertilizer for optimal growth and flower production. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
