    Proven Winners® Bubbly Wine® Weigela (Weigela florida ‘Bubbly Wine®’) is a colourful deciduous shrub known for its dark burgundy foliage and abundant bright pink trumpet-shaped flowers.     Sun Requirements ▾

    Full sun to part shade. Plant in a location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for the richest foliage colour and heaviest flowering. Light afternoon shade is tolerated, but full sun provides the best ornamental performance.

    Watering Instructions ▾

    Moderate. Water regularly during establishment to encourage a strong root system. Once established, water deeply during prolonged dry periods while allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings.

    Care Tips ▾

    Prune lightly immediately after flowering if shaping is desired, as weigelas bloom primarily on old wood. Remove any dead or winter-damaged branches in early spring. Apply mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and protect roots during winter. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
