Proven Winners® Superbells® Blackcurrant Punch Calibrachoa (Calibrachoa hybrid ‘Blackcurrant Punch’)

Proven Winners® Superbells® Blackcurrant Punch Calibrachoa (Calibrachoa hybrid ‘Blackcurrant Punch’)

Proven Winners® Superbells® Blackcurrant Punch Calibrachoa (Calibrachoa hybrid ‘Blackcurrant Punch’) is a dramatic trailing annual prized for its rich blackcurrant-purple blooms and continuous flowering performance. This vigorous calibrachoa produces masses of small petunia-like flowers from spring until frost, creating bold cascading colour in hanging baskets, patio containers, window boxes, and mixed annual displays.

The deep purple blooms feature velvety colouring that adds richness and depth to summer arrangements while pairing beautifully with silver foliage, chartreuse accents, pink flowers, and white companion plants. Its naturally trailing growth habit allows the plant to spill gracefully over container edges while maintaining dense branching and excellent flower coverage throughout the season. Like other Superbells® varieties, Blackcurrant Punch is self-cleaning and low-maintenance, requiring little deadheading to stay in bloom.

In Alberta, Superbells® Blackcurrant Punch performs best in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and regular watering. It thrives during warm Prairie summers and maintains strong flowering performance even during periods of heat. Regular feeding supports vigorous growth and nonstop flowering all season long

Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun. Plant in a location receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Full sun promotes abundant flowering, dense branching, and the richest flower colour.

Watering Instructions ▾

Moderate. Keep the soil evenly moist but well-drained. Hanging baskets and patio containers may require daily watering during periods of hot summer weather. Avoid allowing the soil to remain saturated.

Care Tips ▾

Feed regularly with a balanced water-soluble fertilizer formulated for flowering annuals to encourage vigorous growth and continuous blooming. If plants become leggy during midsummer, lightly trim them back to promote fresh branching and another flush of flowers. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
