    Sun Requirements ▾

    Full sun. Plant in a location receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Full sun produces the richest burgundy foliage colour and the heaviest flowering. While tolerant of light shade, reduced sunlight may result in greener foliage and fewer blooms.

    Watering Instructions ▾

    Moderate. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, Wine & Roses® Weigela is moderately drought tolerant but performs best with occasional deep watering during prolonged dry periods.

    Care Tips ▾

    Prune immediately after flowering if shaping is desired, as flower buds develop on old wood. Remove older stems periodically to encourage vigorous new growth and maintain a dense, healthy shrub. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
