Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun to partial sun is ideal. Provide at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal root development. While beets can tolerate light shade, reduced sunlight may slow growth and decrease root size.

Watering Instructions ▾

Maintain evenly moist soil throughout the growing period to support uniform root development. Avoid allowing soil to dry out completely, as inconsistent moisture can result in woody or cracked roots. Overwatering should also be avoided, as saturated soil may cause rot.

Care Tips ▾

Red Ace Beets grow best in loose, well-draining soil free of large stones to allow for proper root development. They prefer cool to moderate temperatures and perform optimally in spring and fall. Consistent soil fertility supports strong root formation and healthy top growth. Moderate outdoor humidity is sufficient, and good airflow helps reduce foliar disease. Direct sow Red Ace Beet seeds outdoors in early spring as soon as soil can be worked, or again in late summer for a fall harvest. Seeds germinate best in soil temperatures between 10–25°C. Thin seedlings to allow adequate spacing for root development. Red Ace typically matures in approximately 50–60 days. Harvest when roots reach desired size, generally 5–8 cm in diameter, for best flavour and texture. Young greens may also be harvested for fresh use.
