This evergreen succulent forms tight, symmetrical rosettes that multiply over time, producing offsets or “chicks” that spread into a dense mat. The foliage colour intensifies with sun exposure and cooler temperatures, enhancing the red highlights. In summer, mature rosettes may send up flower stalks before naturally fading, with surrounding offsets continuing the plant’s growth.
