Warranty eligibility assumes you follow the steps below and the follow-up schedule. The warranty is valid for up to one year from purchase.

To activate and maintain your warranty:
We must set you up with a customer profile in our system. This allows us to keep your purchase records — no need to keep or remember your receipt for proof of purchase. AND you fill out the form below.

The warranty is valid only if:
The proper transplanting steps outlined in this guide are followed.
Rage Plus (included) or another transplant fertilizer is used at the time of planting.
Proper watering protocols (outlined below) are followed consistently.
Failure to follow these requirements voids warranty coverage.

Step-by-Step Planting Instructions

1. Call Before You Dig
   Before your shovel hits dirt, call your local utility service. Underground water lines, gas lines, or internet cables could be just beneath the surface. Striking one could quickly turn your planting into an emergency.
2. Tree Transport Tips
   When moving your tree from the greenhouse to your yard, protect it (and your vehicle). Wrap the trunk and branches to prevent scrapes or breakage, and cushion any contact points. Think of it as seatbelt protocol for plants.
3. Dig the Right Hole
   Width: 2× the width of the pot/root ball.
   Depth: Same depth as the root ball.
   For example, a 15-gallon pot needs a hole roughly twice that width. The width gives roots room to expand.
   One of the most common mistakes is planting too deep. The top of the root ball (where roots meet trunk) should sit level with surrounding ground. Too low = roots suffocate.
4. Prune Before You Plant
   Remove any broken, dead, or crossing branches before planting. This pruning helps the tree focus energy on new root growth instead of repairing damage.
5. Prep with Fertilizer
   Before placing the tree in the hole, prep it using a high-quality transplant fertilizer like Rage Plus (included) or Dirt n’ Grow Organic Ultra Transplant Fertilizer.
   What to do:
   Add a thin layer of soil to the bottom.
   Mix it with the correct amount of fertilizer (follow label instructions).
   Shape the soil to cradle the root ball.
6. Set the Tree in Place
   Gently lower the tree into the hole. Ensure it’s upright and centered. The root collar (where trunk meets roots) should sit level with surrounding soil.
7. Level and Align
   Check the tree from multiple angles to ensure it’s straight. Adjust before backfilling. If the tree leans after a few days, stake it for support while roots establish.
8. Backfill and Fertilize Again
   Backfill the hole with soil in layers, pressing down gently to remove air pockets. After the hole is full, add a small top layer of transplant fertilizer to boost root growth.
   Tip: Organic transplant fertilizers like Dirt n’ Grow are gentle and hard to overuse — perfect for beginners.
9. Water Deeply (But Gently)
   Deep watering is key to root development. Set your hose to a slow trickle at the base of the tree for 20–30 minutes. Avoid blasting the soil, which can compact it or wash nutrients away.
   Watering: Keep It Simple (and Deep)
   New plants fail most often from under-watering (or inconsistent watering). Use this schedule as a baseline and adjust for heat, wind, soil, and rainfall.
   Easy Rule of Thumb (per watering)
   Shrubs (2–5 gal / 7–19 L pot): 8–12 L each time
   Small trees (5–10 gal / 19–38 L pot): 20–30 L each time
   Larger B&B trees: 30–50 L each time
   Apply water slowly at the root zone so it soaks in (not runoff).

Frequency
Weeks 1–2: Water every 1–2 days (daily in heat/wind). Soil should stay consistently moist, not soggy.
Weeks 3–12: Water 2–3× per week.
After 3 months (first growing season): Water weekly until the ground freezes.
Following year: Water every 1–2 weeks in dry spells.

Rain check: If you get 25 mm (1") of steady rain that week, you can skip one watering. Brief showers don’t count.
Fertilizer & Follow-Up Doses (Rage Plus)
At planting: Use the included Rage Plus per label as your first dose.
Follow-up: Apply another dose in 2–3 weeks. You’ll need to purchase more Rage Plus or a transplant fertilizer for this (the included bottle covers only the first dose).

Optional light feeds: In the first growing season, you can apply monthly, low-rate doses through mid-summer, then stop 6–8 weeks before frost to avoid tender late growth.
First-Year Care Checklist

Troubleshooting
Wilting mid-day but perky in morning/evening: Normal heat stress. If wilting persists at cool times, increase watering volume.

Leaves yellowing + wet soil: Over-watering. Let soil dry to lightly moist between waterings.

Leaf scorch/browning edges: Typically under-watering or hot wind. Increase volume/frequency and consider temporary shade (7–10 days) in extreme heat.

Plant is wobbly: Re-set at correct depth and stake properly.
Insects or spots: Take photos and contact us for the right product.
