Sun Requirements ▾

Needs bright, indirect light to maintain its variegation and prevent leggy growth. Too little light will cause loss of contrast and smaller leaves. Avoid harsh direct sun, especially midday—variegated areas are more sensitive to sunburn. East-facing windows or filtered western light work beautifully.

Watering Instructions ▾

Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Keep soil lightly and evenly moist, but never soggy—this Alocasia is sensitive to overwatering and root rot. In cooler months, reduce watering slightly as the plant may enter partial dormancy.

Care Tips ▾

Requires high humidity (60%+ preferred) to maintain vibrant growth and prevent crispy edges—humidifiers work best, but pebble trays or enclosed setups can help. Prefers warm temps between 18–26°C (65–79°F). Avoid cold drafts and sudden drops in temperature. Use a well-draining aroid mix, ideally a blend of potting soil, perlite, coco coir, and orchid bark. Feed with a gentle, balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring/summer), diluted to half strength.
