Sun Requirements ▾

Cacti thrive in bright, direct light and love a sunny, south- or west-facing window. Indoors, aim to give them at least 4–6 hours of sun daily to keep them compact and healthy. Without enough light, they may grow leggy or lose their vibrant coloring.

Watering Instructions ▾

As true desert dwellers, cacti like to be watered deeply and infrequently. Allow the soil to completely dry out between waterings. During the growing season (spring through early fall), water about every 2–3 weeks, depending on your home’s humidity and light. In the winter, reduce watering significantly—once a month or less is usually sufficient.

Care Tips ▾

Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix and pots with drainage holes to prevent root rot. Cacti are happiest in warm, dry environments and don’t require humidity. They’re also slow growers, which makes them ideal for small spaces, windowsills, and tabletop displays.
