Candy Stripe Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata ‘Candy Stripe’)
Candy Stripe Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata ‘Candy Stripe’)
Candy Stripe Creeping Phlox is a low-growing perennial valued for its soft pink and white striped blooms and dense, spreading habit. This cultivar of Phlox subulata creates a vibrant carpet of colour early in the season.
This herbaceous perennial forms a mat of fine, needle-like evergreen foliage. In early to mid-spring, it becomes covered in masses of small, star-shaped flowers with pink centres and white edges, creating a striped effect. The blooms attract pollinators such as bees and provide one of the earliest bursts of colour in the garden.
Candy Stripe Creeping Phlox is well-suited for groundcover, rock gardens, slopes, and border edging. Its spreading habit makes it ideal for filling spaces, cascading over walls, and softening landscape edges.
