Dahlietta® Candy Dahlia (Dahlia × hybrida ‘Dahlietta® Candy’)

Dahlietta® Candy Dahlia (Dahlia × hybrida ‘Dahlietta® Candy’) is a charming compact dahlia prized for its abundant blooms, tidy growth habit, and outstanding garden performance. This colourful variety produces masses of bright candy-pink flowers from late spring until frost, creating a cheerful display in containers, window boxes, borders, and mixed garden plantings.

The vibrant blooms stand out beautifully against lush green foliage and provide continuous colour throughout the growing season. Their bright pink tones bring energy and warmth to outdoor spaces while attracting bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators. The flowers combine beautifully with white, purple, yellow, blue, and silver companion plants in mixed container arrangements and landscape beds.

Part of the popular Dahlietta® series, Candy develops a dense, compact habit with excellent branching and flower production. Its manageable size makes it ideal for smaller gardens, patio containers, and front-of-border plantings where season-long colour is desired. The plant remains neat and floriferous throughout the growing season with minimal maintenance.

In Alberta, Dahlietta® Candy performs exceptionally well as a summer annual, providing dependable flowering and vibrant colour from planting time until frost.

Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun is ideal for maximum flowering and healthy growth. Plant in a location that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Bright sunlight promotes abundant blooms, compact growth, and sturdy stems. While light afternoon shade is tolerated, flowering performance is strongest in full sun.

Watering Instructions ▾

Moderate. Keep soil evenly moist but not saturated. Water when the top portion of the soil begins to dry. Container-grown plants may require more frequent watering during hot summer weather.

Care Tips ▾

Remove spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Fertilize every 2–3 weeks during the growing season to support healthy growth and abundant flower production. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
