Sun Requirements ▾

This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. An east-facing window is ideal, or place it where it receives filtered sunlight. Avoid prolonged direct afternoon sun, which may scorch the stems. Outdoors, it flourishes in shaded patios or under dappled sunlight, mimicking its natural tropical habitat.

Watering Instructions ▾

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, usually every 7–10 days during the growing season. Use a well-draining potting mix and ensure excess water drains away—never allow the plant to sit in water, as this can lead to root rot. During fall and winter, reduce watering as the plant rests. Overwatering is the most common mistake, so always let the soil partially dry before watering again.

Care Tips ▾

Temperature & Humidity: Enjoys warm temperatures (65–85°F / 18–29°C) and moderate to high humidity. Protect from drafts and temperatures below 50°F (10°C). Potting Medium: Use a light, airy mix such as cactus soil blended with orchid bark or perlite for optimal drainage and aeration. Fertilizing: Feed monthly with a diluted balanced fertilizer during spring and summer. Switch to a bloom-boosting fertilizer when buds form to encourage flowering. Blooming: Large, fragrant white flowers typically appear in summer, opening at night and fading by morning. The blooms fill the air with a rich, intoxicating scent. Growth Habit: Its long, trailing stems make it perfect for hanging baskets, tall planters, or as a dramatic cascading accent.
