Epipremnum Esqueleto
Epipremnum Esqueleto
Delicate in appearance yet vigorous in growth, Epipremnum ‘Esqueleto’ is a rare tropical climber celebrated for its deeply fenestrated, lace-like leaves. Its elongated, sculptural foliage develops dramatic natural perforations as it matures, giving it an elegant “skeletal” structure that captivates collectors and design lovers alike.
With proper support—such as a moss pole or trellis—and bright, indirect light, Esqueleto thrives and transforms into a stunning statement plant. Its fast-growing, climbing nature brings bold rainforest energy to interiors while maintaining an air of refinement and rarity.

Sun Requirements ▾
Bright, indirect light is best to maintain strong growth and develop those gorgeous fenestrations (leaf holes).
Can tolerate medium light, but you may see less dramatic leaf structure.
Avoid harsh direct sun, especially during the afternoon, which can scorch the leaves. A few hours of morning sun is okay if filtered.
Watering Instructions ▾
Water when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry.
This plant likes a consistent watering routine but does not enjoy soggy soil. Make sure your pot has good drainage and never let it sit in water.
In lower light or cooler months, scale back watering frequency.
Care Tips ▾
Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a chunky aroid mix with perlite and orchid bark.
Provide a moss pole or support—it climbs in nature, and supporting it encourages larger, fenestrated leaves.
Thrives in moderate to high humidity. If your home is dry, a pebble tray or humidifier can help.
Prefers temps between 18–27°C (65–80°F). Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature drops.
Fertilize monthly in spring and summer with a balanced houseplant fertilizer to support strong growth.
