Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun. Provide at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day for dense, compact growth and abundant spring flowering. Light partial shade can be tolerated, but plants grown with insufficient sunlight may produce fewer flowers and develop a looser growth habit.

Watering Instructions ▾

Low to moderate. Water regularly during the first growing season while plants establish a strong root system. Once established, Fort Hill Moss Phlox has good drought tolerance and prefers the soil to dry somewhat between waterings. Avoid consistently wet or waterlogged conditions.

Care Tips ▾

Lightly shear plants after the main spring flowering period to remove faded blooms, encourage dense fresh growth, and maintain a neat, compact habit. Avoid excessive fertilizer, which can encourage loose foliage growth at the expense of flowering. Excellent drainage is particularly important for healthy growth and reliable overwintering.
