Frances Williams Hosta (Hosta sieboldiana ‘Frances Williams’) is a large, classic hosta known for its bold blue-green foliage with wide, irregular golden-yellow margins. This variety is highly valued for its size, texture, and strong visual presence, making it a standout focal point in shade gardens and woodland landscapes.

The thick, heavily textured leaves form a substantial mound, creating structure and depth in shaded areas. As the season progresses, the golden margins soften to a creamy yellow, adding dynamic colour variation. In early to mid-summer, pale lavender flowers rise above the foliage on tall stems, attracting pollinators and adding seasonal interest.

In Alberta, Frances Williams performs best in partial to full shade with consistently moist, well-drained soil.
