Hoya ‘Rosita’ (Hoya wayetii × Hoya tsangii)
Hoya ‘Rosita’ (Hoya wayetii × Hoya tsangii)
Hoya ‘Rosita’ (Hoya wayetii × Hoya tsangii) is a beautiful trailing tropical houseplant prized for its slender glossy foliage, reddish leaf edging, and cascading vine growth habit. This elegant hybrid hoya adds soft tropical texture and colour to shelves, hanging baskets, and collector houseplant displays.
The narrow succulent-like leaves emerge rich green and often develop deep red or burgundy margins when grown in bright light. Its trailing vines create a graceful cascading appearance that becomes fuller and more dramatic as the plant matures. Under ideal growing conditions, mature plants may also produce clusters of fragrant star-shaped pink flowers typical of many hoya varieties.
As an epiphytic tropical plant, Hoya Rosita thrives in warm indoor conditions with bright indirect light and excellent drainage. Its semi-succulent leaves help store moisture, making it relatively drought tolerant and easy to maintain once established. Bright light encourages stronger foliage colour and more compact healthy growth.
In Alberta, Hoya Rosita performs best indoors year-round away from cold drafts and harsh direct sunlight. It is especially popular among hoya collectors and indoor plant enthusiasts for its elegant foliage and low-maintenance nature.
