Mojito Mint (Mentha × villosa)
Mojito Mint (Mentha × villosa)
Mojito Mint, botanically classified as Mentha × villosa, is a fragrant culinary herb best known as the traditional mint used in authentic mojito cocktails. Native to Cuba and widely grown throughout warm climates, this mint variety is valued for its bright aroma and mild, slightly sweet flavour. The leaves are commonly used fresh in beverages, desserts, teas, and savoury dishes.
This mint produces soft green leaves with a slightly textured surface and grows quickly into a full, leafy plant. Like most mint varieties, it spreads readily and develops a dense, upright growth habit when regularly harvested. Mojito mint is well suited for container growing, indoor herb gardens, patios, or outdoor herb beds where its vigorous growth can be managed more easily.
