Peach Sorbet® Blueberry (Vaccinium hybrid)

Peach Sorbet® Blueberry (Vaccinium hybrid)

Peach Sorbet® Blueberry (Vaccinium hybrid) is a compact, ornamental blueberry shrub valued for its multi-season foliage colour and edible fruit. This variety features vibrant leaves that emerge peachy-pink in spring, mature to green in summer, and develop rich purple and red tones in fall.

In addition to its ornamental appeal, Peach Sorbet® produces small, sweet blueberries suitable for fresh eating. Its naturally compact, mounded habit makes it ideal for containers, patio planters, borders, and small-space edible landscapes.

This blueberry is well-suited to Canadian gardeners looking for both visual interest and productivity. In Alberta, it can be grown successfully with proper soil preparation and winter protection. Like all blueberries, it requires acidic soil conditions to thrive and produce fruit.

Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun. Plant in a location receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Full sun encourages the best fruit production, sweetest berries, and the most vibrant foliage colour.

Watering Instructions ▾

Moderate. Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Blueberries have shallow root systems and benefit from regular watering, particularly during flowering and fruit development.

Care Tips ▾

Plant in acidic soil with a pH between 4.5 and 5.5 for optimal growth and fruit production. Mulch with pine bark or other acidic organic material to retain moisture and maintain soil acidity. While Peach Sorbet® is self-pollinating, planting another blueberry variety nearby can improve fruit production and berry size. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
