Proven Winners® Bloomerang Purpink® Reblooming Lilac (Syringa x ‘Bloomerang Purpink®’)

Proven Winners® Bloomerang Purpink® Reblooming Lilac (Syringa x ‘Bloomerang Purpink®’)

Proven Winners® Bloomerang Purpink® Reblooming Lilac (Syringa x ‘Bloomerang Purpink®’) is a compact lilac shrub prized for its fragrant purple-pink flowers and reliable reblooming performance. Unlike traditional lilacs that bloom once in spring, Bloomerang® varieties flower heavily in spring and continue reblooming through summer and fall, providing extended seasonal colour and fragrance.

The richly scented blooms attract butterflies and pollinators while creating a classic cottage-garden appearance. Its compact, rounded growth habit makes it ideal for borders, foundation plantings, and smaller landscapes where season-long flowering is desired. The clean green foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season.

In Alberta, Bloomerang Purpink® performs exceptionally well in full sun with well-drained soil. It is cold-hardy and benefits from light pruning after the main spring bloom cycle to encourage additional reblooming throughout the season.

Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun. Plant in a location receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Full sun is essential for abundant flowering, vigorous growth, and the strongest fragrance.

Watering Instructions ▾

Moderate. Water regularly during establishment to develop a healthy root system. Once established, water deeply during extended dry periods while allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid consistently wet soil.

Care Tips ▾

Prune lightly immediately after the spring bloom if shaping is needed, as the main flowering occurs on old wood. Avoid heavy pruning, which may reduce reblooming. Remove dead or damaged branches in late winter and apply compost or a balanced fertilizer each spring to encourage healthy growth and continuous flowering. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
