This eye-catching shrub adds long-lasting seasonal interest and provides valuable food for birds and wildlife during colder months.

The small pink flowers appear in summer and are followed by masses of bright berries that cover the stems, creating exceptional fall and winter colour. Its dense, rounded growth habit makes it ideal for borders, naturalized plantings, and wildlife-friendly landscapes. The clean green foliage provides an attractive backdrop throughout the growing season before the berries become the main feature.

Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun to part shade. Plant in a location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for the best flowering and berry production. It will tolerate partial shade but may produce fewer flowers and berries.

Watering Instructions ▾

Moderate. Water regularly during establishment to encourage a healthy root system. Once established, this shrub is moderately drought tolerant but performs best with occasional deep watering during extended dry periods. Avoid consistently waterlogged soil.

Care Tips ▾

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins to remove older stems and encourage vigorous new growth with abundant berry production. Older shrubs benefit from renewal pruning every few years by removing several of the oldest stems at ground level. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
