Pumice Maya Growing Medium
Pumice Maya Growing Medium
Fine Grade Pumice
Improves Drainage | Prevents Root Rot | Ideal for Succulents & Cacti
Fine grade pumice is a lightweight, porous soil amendment that naturally improves airflow, drainage, and nutrient distribution in plant root systems. Its microscopic pores retain moisture and nutrients while keeping soil loose and breathable—helping to prevent root rot and surface root exposure. With a neutral pH, pumice is safe and effective for nearly any plant.
This fine-textured grade is ideal for succulents, cacti, and propagation projects, as well as soil mixes that require a lighter, more refined structure.
Best Uses
-
Soil Amendment: Mix ½ cup pumice into every 2 cups of dense soil to boost aeration and drainage.
-
Rooting Cuttings: Especially useful for succulents and cacti prone to rot—fill a container with a 1" layer of pumice, moisten, and place cuttings until roots form.
-
Planter Drainage: Add as a base layer in pots without drainage holes.
-
Top Dressing: Use as a finishing layer for cacti and succulents to reduce moisture loss and add a clean look.
