Spring King Mini Rose Salvia (Salvia nemorosa ‘Spring King Mini Rose’)

Spring King Mini Rose Salvia (Salvia nemorosa ‘Spring King Mini Rose’)

Spring King Mini Rose Salvia is a compact, early-blooming perennial valued for its soft rose-pink flower spikes and tidy growth habit. This cultivar of Salvia nemorosa is known for its smaller size and reliable performance, making it ideal for front-of-border planting and smaller garden spaces.

This herbaceous perennial forms a dense mound of aromatic green foliage. In late spring to early summer, it produces upright spikes of gentle rose-pink blooms that attract pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. With light trimming after flowering, it can rebloom and extend its seasonal colour.

Spring King Mini Rose Salvia is well-suited for borders, edging, containers, and pollinator gardens. Its compact size and soft colouring make it easy to incorporate into a wide range of landscape styles.

Sun Requirements ▾

Full sun. Plant where Spring King Mini Rose receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day. Abundant sunshine encourages dense, compact growth, sturdy flower stems, vibrant colouring, and prolific blooming. Light partial shade may be tolerated, but too much shade can reduce flowering and produce looser growth.

Watering Instructions ▾

Low to moderate. Water consistently during the first growing season while the root system becomes established. Once established, Spring King Mini Rose Salvia has good drought tolerance and prefers the soil to dry somewhat between waterings. Avoid persistently wet or waterlogged conditions.

Care Tips ▾

Remove or shear back faded flower spikes after the first major bloom to encourage fresh foliage and additional flowering. Avoid excessive fertilizer, which can encourage soft growth at the expense of flowers. Good drainage is particularly important during winter and spring snowmelt. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
