Watering Instructions ▾

Low to moderate. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, Summer Sun False Sunflower tolerates periods of drought but performs best with occasional deep watering during prolonged hot, dry weather.

Care Tips ▾

Deadhead faded flowers regularly to encourage additional blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Plants can be pinched or lightly cut back in late spring to encourage bushier, more compact growth if desired. Divide established clumps every few years in spring or fall if they become crowded. Leaving some mature seed heads standing in fall provides winter texture and food for birds. A moisture meter is a great way to gauge your plant's moisture levels.
